Information For Agricultural Research Managers (INFORM)

INFORM is a computer-based management information system, including program budgeting to support agricultural research managers to use as a management tool in managing their research programs and resources at their institutions efficiently and effectively.

INFORM puts the various types of information, required for research managers in to one system. Mainly two types of information are involved in INFORM. The first is resources available to research managers:

The second is the way in which those resources are used as information about research programs and results of research programs etc. In the light of increased institutional activities coupled with growing scarcity of resources, as well as the complexities of the NARS, the Research Managers are faced with the problem of efficient and effective management of their research.

A precise knowledge about the available resources, research programs and projects that are being carried out by the scientists in their institutions is a first prerequisite in efforts towards rationalization of research investments. With this in mind SLCARP has initiated this Management Information System for the NARS.
