Sri Lanka Council for Agricultural Research Policy (SLCARP) successfully conducted the Green to Green International Research Conference 2025 on 16th December 2025, bringing together international and national scientists, academics, policymakers, and development practitioners to explore pathways towards,

  • Organic Farming
  • Precision and smart agriculture
  • Circular economy
  • Regenerative practice
  • Renewable energy
  • Advanced water management

The conference provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and dialogue on innovative research, policy integration, and practical solutions to emerging challenges in agriculture and environmental sustainability.

The chief guest of the event was Mr. D. P. Wickramasinghe, Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands and Irrigations. Professor Darshani Kumaragamage, The University of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada delivered the  Keynote speech Two guished guest speakers, Dr. Ravi Khetarpal, Executive Director of Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institution (APAARI), and Ms. Camelia Andriana, Project Management Specialist at Food and Agriculture Organization  (FAO), who shared policy implementation, regional and global perspectives on agricultural research collaboration and circular agri-food system transformation. Prof. R. S. Dharamakeerthi, Chairman of SLCARP, highlighted the current importance of the conference in his welcome speech and announced that the conference will continue in the coming years.

The conference reaffirmed SLCARP’s commitment to advancing research in organic farming, precision and smart agriculture, circular economy approaches while strengthening international collaboration and policy-relevant scientific engagement to support sustainable agriculture in Sri Lanka and beyond.  The Coordinator of the international conference was Dr. S. M. P. C. Padmini, Deputy Director of Research Management, SLCARP.
